CALL TO ORDER

• Establish a quorum of the Board of Directors (4 minimum)

ORDER OF BUSINESS

• Approval of the minutes from 3-20-2024 BoD meeting (e-mailed to members)

• NPS Updates - Site Manager Tom Smith / Superintendent Wendy Berhman. 
  

OLD BUSINESS

• A draft 3-yr Strategic plan is under review by the NPS. The 2024 Annual Work Plan will be extracted and submitted to the board for approval when this process is complete. 
  

NEW BUSINESS

• Election of board members

According to the Friends of MAPR-LA bylaws:
ARTICLE 5 – MEETINGS
Section 1. There shall be an Annual Membership Meeting each year in the Spring for the purpose of electing Directors, hearing reports, review of fundraising goals and any other transactions as may be necessary.
ARTICLE 6 – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Section 1. The Board of Directors shall be elected from Members in Good Standing. There shall be a maximum of 15 Directors, but no less than 7 Directors.

Section 2. The Board of Directors shall be elected for 2-year terms. Approximately half of the Board shall be elected in odd numbered years and the other half in even years.

- Currently the minimum seven directors are serving on the board. Five director’s (Blumenthal, Henderson, Miko, Reiss & Wilkins) terms are expiring this year and two (Jolly & Judson) expire next year.   

- Tina Moore has agreed to be nominated as a new director. Other members are encouraged to join (please notify me prior to the meeting if you would like to be nominated but cannot attend), along with current directors whose terms are expiring (up to the maximum of 15). 

- The slate of nominees will be submitted to a vote of members present (in-person or online).

• Chamberfest – Saturday, June 1^st.  Share a table with NPS ? We have “business” cards with the QR code for the Friends donation webpage that can be handed out, plus the donation box. Volunteers ?

• Sciencefest – July 12-16^th (Fri-Tues.). Discuss plans.
• Other new business ?
